I was really hoping for 'authentic Italian'...after reading a write up in the Pueblo West View...nope, you won't get it here. I got a chicken parm sandwich on first visit and eggplant parm sandwich on second, both OK, not great, nothing to rave about. Both the chicken and then the eggplant were rather dry. Dipping sauce was OK. However, the bread was great! Boyfriend got burger (authentic Italian with burgers on the menu - really?) Salad bar was mediocre at best and not antipasti as I had hoped. We checked out the Friday "all you can eat buffet" before we left thinking we might come back for a third time to try it...it didn't entice us and we did not feel it was worth 15 bucks a head. Dessert both times great. The bakery may be the best part of the business. Go try it out yourself but don't expect authentic Italian. Service was very good. Ambiance was not to my liking, rather like a cafeteria with tables covered in those plastic cheesy red/whit things and cheap chairs. More like a cafe than a restaurant.

Have to say after reading some reviews I was a little apprehensive in going here...we had great service! Server was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. My husband and son split a pizza and really liked it. We all split the fried ravioli appetizer and I got the ravioli...I'm not a meatball person but the meatballs were pretty good! We were too full to have dessert but they looked yummy! Pueblo West is hurting for good restaurants so this was a great surprise!

I am surprised no one has reviewed this restaurant yet. Goodfellas is a new place nestled in a strip mall that you'd pass by if you weren't looking for it. When you walk in, you are greeted with a friendly and well decorated little place with the obligatory red checkered table clothes. The owner(s) obviously took great care in decorating with the pretty wall mural, the old timey photos and most notably, the autographed photos of most of the cast of the Goodfellas movie. There is also a bakery case that was stocked with generous slices of pie, cannolis and tiramisu all made on premises. The menu is relatively small, which I think a good thing. We ordered the caprese salad and bread knots for appetizers (there were three of us in our party). The best thing about the caprese was the small bits of home made mozarella but the bread knots were very good. I'm assuming they were pizza dough and were salted and dusted with Parmesan and very fresh. We ordered the chicken parm sandwich, the lasagna and the cheese tortellini. We tasted each others dishes and it was agreed that the lasagna was the best. A very (very) generous slice that was definitely freshly made and full of cheesy goodness. My chicken parm was good and the way the chicken was prepared gave it a nice crunch. It was served with a small side of their sauce for dipping, which was slightly sweet. The only critique I would give it is I would gladly pay a dollar or two more and have a larger piece of chicken used for the sandwich - the ratio of bread to chicken was a little off (though the bread was excellent on its own). Our guest said the tortellini was good but he wished he had ordered the lasagna :) We finished with a cannoli which everyone loved. Again, though, I would have appreciated a little more filling in the cannoli shell but what was there was very good. Our guest ordered the tiramisu which was very light and rich, though after he tasted my cannoli, he said he would have preferred it. I guess he'll know what to order next time! The service was impeccable and the place was pretty busy for a new restaurant. The word must be getting out, as we will definitely be returning to try their pizza(s).

Meh. It was ok. Nothing like I wanted, a creamy chicken Marsala or a beautifully cooked piccata in a light lemon butter sauce. It was very run of the mill dishes, your parm, Alfredo, spaghetti... Nothing innovative or mind blowing. But decent food with large portions. It filled the belly. And that's all I can ask of dinner.

Cute place, but the service was slow, the sauce full of sugar, and the cannoli disappointing. Probably won't come again.

While most businesses close on Sunday in Pueblo, this very cute, welcoming place opens til 8pm. Working on a Sunday, I just needed a low key place for a quick dinner and be on my way. First thought was as if I just walked into my best friend in junior high school's home. Think your Best friend's grand parents cooked spaghetti, put together a house salad and ur best friend says stay over and lets do homework, watch tv and eat what grandpa and grandma made for the family. Very down home feel. The Italian soup at the sale bar was amazing too.

Service was horrible and there was 3 waitresses and hardly anyone in there! Had to ask for utensils, had to remind them that my wife wanted water, and being our 1st time in there had to ask how the we do the soup and salad bar. Salad bar left a lot to be desired, not many toppings, and the minestrone soup was very mushy. Bread was awful, more like a bun with a bunch of butter poured over it! We ordered the stuffed shells, which were OK, but were NOT hot, very luke warm! Probably won't go back!

Wow amazing food and desserts. I read the reviews on yelp about this restaurant and decided I would try it and form my own opinion, and boy am I glad I did. The food was amazing you can definitely tell the food is made by true Italians. I have never eaten better Italian food in pueblo or anywhere else. I would strongly recommend this food to everyone looking for an awesome meal. The sausage sandwiches are to die for they beat any you will get in pueblo, the Alfredo is phenomenal and the desserts you can't go wrong with anything you get.

Cute little Italian place if you just look above the chair rail. Dinner buffet is $15 and definitely worth it as they have homemade meatballs, homemade sausage, homemade gnocci, homemade raviolis, and baked fish. And of course all the other Italian eats that go with an Italian place other than their pizza, (I was told that it takes up to 30 minutes to bake.) I had the Elis Island burger as it says that it is stuffed with pepper jack cheese. I've always wanted to try a 'Juicy Lucy' especially when it comes with a Pueblo Chili on top of a homemade bun. No 'Juicy Lucy' here. I don't think that there was even any cheese stuffing in that burger. There was a piece of American cheese on it tho. And I loved it. Very good meat flavor with a touch of heat from the chili. Pass on the spaghetti and meatballs unless you are getting it for the kids. Red sauce is not great. Real watery lacking flavor and seasoning. Meatballs tasted like my meatloaf. Next time I'm trying the pizza and we will go from there. I would give the service 5 stars.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
